WASHINGTON, May 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To celebrate his 50th year in show business, entertainment legend Pat Boone (http://www.patsgold.com/) is celebrating in a big way and heading to Washington, DC, for a series of Memorial Day weekend festivities where he'll take center stage to promote a new anthem and historical documentary he's created for the National Guard, titled "For My Country."

On Fri., May 25, Boone will be joined by Congressmen and Generals of the National Guard at the National Press Club (Murrow Room) to unveil "For My Country," said to be the first ever anthem and documentary dedicated solely to the 369 year-old National Guard.

Sat., May 26, 6 PM, First ever "G.I. Film Festival" Ronald Reagan Intl. Trade Center

On Saturday, the famous entertainer, equally renowned for his trademark white buck shoes, will attend, along with Gary Sinise and other stars, the debut G.I. Film Festival, at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center, where Boone will introduce the world premier of the "For My Country" companion documentary.

Sun., May 27, 11:30 AM, "Rolling Thunder 20th Anniv." event, west end reflecting pool

For Sunday's 20th anniversary of "Rolling Thunder," the massive bikers get together, Boone will perform as one of the event's headliners, accompanied by the musical group, "VALOR" (http://www.valormusic.net/), who are also featured on the "For My Country" track.

On Monday, Memorial Day, Boone will preside as "Honorary Marshal" for the paralyzed veterans in the Washington, DC, Memorial Day Parade, which attracts upwards of 150,000 spectators.

Along with "VALOR," Boone will also perform at the parade pre show event in front of the National Archives building.

Profits from the sale of the "For My Country" CD/DVD will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America (http://www.pva.org/).
