Ohoven Moves to First Look Studios

LOS ANGELES, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Academy Award(R) nominee Michael Ohoven and his Infinity Media, Inc. have signed a three-year production, development and overhead deal with First Look Studios. First Look Holdings Co-chairmen Avi Lerner and Henry Winterstern made the announcement jointly today.

Ohoven, best known for producing the Oscar(R) winning film "Capote," will be based in the First Look offices in Century City.

"Michael has already made his mark in independent filmmaking and built an impressive company," said Winterstern. "His films have made over $600 million world-wide and many have met with great critical acclaim. There are very few producers in this business who have accomplished so much at such a young age. He brings a lot to the table in the way of business savvy and creative input. This alliance will be prosperous for both our companies."

Ohoven will continue to maintain his agreements and relationships with other studios and distributors. The structure of the deal allows Ohoven the unique ability to guarantee theatrical distribution at Infinity Media's discretion.

First Look Pictures' Kevin Turen will become President of Infinity Media, Inc. Turen has been Vice President of Development and Production at the independent studio for the last three years. Prior to that, he was at Capital Entertainment and moved to First Look in 2004.

One of the most prolific producers, making over 20 films in seven years, Ohoven's recent productions include Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects," "Just Friends," "The Cave," "Pride," and the critically acclaimed "Capote," which received five Oscar(R) nominations including 'Best Picture' and for which Philip Seymour Hoffman was awarded the Oscar(R) for Best Actor.

Ohoven has also produced William Friedkin's soon to be released "Bug" starring Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon. He is currently in development on two new biopics "Hailwood" and "Winalota Cash," as well as "Invisible" and an adaptation of the best-selling novel "Back Roads."

First Look Studios successfully broke into the wide-release arena this month with AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE COLON MOVIE FILM FOR THEATERS. This fall it will distribute the comedy KING OF CALIFORNIA starring Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood, produced by Millennium Films and directed by Mike Cahill. This summer, THE CONTRACT, starring Morgan Freeman and John Cusack, and produced by Millennium will be released on DVD.

First Look Studios is a leading independent studio with four key operating divisions; First Look Pictures, First Look Home Entertainment, First Look Television and First Look Branded Content.

First Look Holdings was created in March of this year to acquire a controlling interest in First Look Studios. Its principals are Avi Lerner, Henry Winterstern, Danny Dimbort and Trevor Short.
