Major League Baseball Teams Take Their Hats Off to Nurses
SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The work of America's 2.9 million registered nurses to save lives and maintain the health of millions of individuals is the focus of National Nurses' Week, celebrated annually May 6-12 throughout the United States. This year, the American Nurses Association has selected "Nursing: A Profession and a Passion" as the theme.
In conjunction with the California Nursing Students' Association (CNSA), three major league baseball teams in California have designated at least one "Nurses' Night at the Ballpark" this May in honor of National Nurses' Week. The Giants, Dodgers and Padres have agreed to donate proceeds from ticket sales for designated games to the CNSA Foundation, benefiting scholarships for nursing students throughout California. "We are fortunate to have these major league baseball teams recognize the contributions of nurses and importance of supporting future nurses," says Patricia McFarland, CEO of the Association of California Nurse Leaders and executive director of CNSA.
Game times and tickets are available through the CNSA Web site at www.cnsa.org.
