Land O'Frost and Walt Disney Records Offer a Chance to 'Sing With a Disneymania 5 Star!'
SEARCY, Ark., April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Land O'Frost, the third largest selling brand of packaged luncheon meats in the U.S., and Walt Disney Records have joined forces to offer the talent-seeking "Sing With a Disneymania 5 Star!" promotion. The campaign commences the week of April 23, 2007.
In the "Sing With a Disneymania 5 Star!" promotion, a lucky winner will get a chance to travel to either Orlando or Los Angeles and get on stage and sing or perform with one of the musical groups featured on the Disneymania 5 CD. Among the potential musical groups with which the prize winner could perform are The Cheetah Girls, T-Squad or Miley Cyrus. Disneymania 5, the newest addition to the multi-platinum tween music franchise, debuted at #14 on the Billboard Top 200 chart on April 4, and #1 on Billboard's Top Kid Audio chart. Since their introduction in 2002, Disneymania titles have sold over three million copies. Previous editions have included artists such as Hilary Duff, Usher and Jessica Simpson.
For the pre-Memorial Day promotion, Land O'Frost will be highlighting its Premium(R) brand, which is the top selling one pound deli-pouch luncheon meat in the U.S. The Land O'Frost Premium(R) brand is distributed in all the top retail supermarket chains in the country, widely available nationally. The "Sing With a Disneymania 5 Star!" promotion will feature the grand prize trip for four people as well as 2,000 Disneymania 5 CDs as prizes. Support for the promotion includes a national FSI on May 6, advertising in Family Circle magazine, an assortment of point-of-sale displays and on-pack/in-pack forms on approximately eight million packages of Land O'Frost Premium(R) lunchmeats. All eight million of the Land O'Frost inserts will also carry an offer for a FREE Disneymania 5 music download. Many of the Disneymania 5 stars are featured on the Land O'Frost marketing materials, including T-Squad and The Cheetah Girls.
"We feel that by offering a lucky consumer a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get on stage and perform with one of our Disneymania 5 stars, we truly have a dynamic promotional offer," said Phil Guerini, executive director, broadcast & strategic marketing, Walt Disney Records.
"We love the star power that the Disneymania brand delivers to the promotion. The buzz from our customers about the tie-in opportunities has been very exciting," said Stephan Williams, director of marketing for Land O'Frost. "This period leading up to Memorial Day is designated for our first major event of the year, and we're confident that this Disney alliance will capture the attention of consumers and an audience that is tuned into high profile contests featuring a chance to perform with a star, and be a star! Our retail partners remember that our last major event tied in with Disney helped product shipments increase 60% vs. the same weeks of the prior year, so expectations for this promotion are high."
Land O'Frost has experienced phenomenal recent success, jumping from the 10th largest brand with primarily regional distribution to becoming the third largest selling brand in the country. Land O'Frost was founded by the Van Eekeren family in the 1940s in Chicago. As the company expanded beyond regional markets into a nationally distributed brand, it opened its second facility in Searcy, Arkansas in 1976. The company currently employs nearly 1,000 people, and is still a family-owned and operated company today. Information about Land O'Frost and its products can be found at http://www.landofrost.com/.
