"kyte.tv brings together three trends -- user-generated content, social networking, and mobile services -- in a unique way. This is a fundamental change in entertainment and broadcasting for the masses. It's TV that's created by the audience for their audiences, with unique collaborative and social features -- it's TV out of the box," said Daniel Graf, co-founder and CEO of kyte. "User-generated pictures, videos, and content are already shaping social expression -- kyte.tv takes it to the next level by allowing people to share their life experiences and their creativity in a highly social and interactive way and in real-time."

How does it work? You are at a concert and want to share the moment, so you "kyte it" -broadcasting the experience to friends and family all over the world. You can simply take a picture or video with your camera phone and instantly broadcast it to your kyte channel. You could even create a "LifeStream", a minute-by-minute live show that is published in real-time directly to your MySpace page, website, blog, or mobile phone. Shows can also be created online using simple drag and drop tools that allow you to add slideshows, videos, music, polls, text, and more. Once live, you can chat with your audience, interact through polls, or invite your friends to co-produce on your channel. All of this is seamless on both the web and the mobile phone -- you are always connected.

Today, kyte.tv also announces that it has received funding from Atomico (co-founded by Niklas Zennstrom), Tim Draper on behalf of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Howard Hartenbaum on behalf of Draper Richards, and also from Ron Conway.

"kyte.tv is reinventing TV for a generation who spends more time in front of their computer or on their mobile phone than they do watching traditional TV. Anyone, anywhere, now has the power to broadcast live TV directly on the Internet and directly to people's mobile phones," said Tim Draper, founder of Draper Fisher Jurvetson and board member of kyte.
