Santa Barbara Production Company Gets a Kiss From the Irish

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Hub Media's film division, Frying Pan Films, has recently secured 75% of its funding from the Northern Ireland Film & Television Commission (http://www.niftc.co.uk/). Their new short film "The Morse Collectors," is scheduled for production in Northern Ireland this September. Frying Pan films' Executive Producer, Gary Sugarman, is funding the remaining 25% and is scheduled to complete casting of the film this summer.

"The Morse Collectors," set during the 2nd World War, is about a small boy and his sister who become obsessed with Morse code messages which are mysteriously transmitted to them. The film script was brought to Executive Producer, Gary Sugarman, and Co-Producer, Crawford Anderson-Dillon, by Irish writer, Paul Maguire. "I've been looking for a good film to produce for a few years and I have read a lot of scripts, but this one was just a great opportunity," says Gary Sugarman. "We really respect Paul as a writer and this script is just a brilliant story that was well written and a good idea." The film is scheduled to be finished in November 2007 and will be entered in international film festivals worldwide.
