America's Approval of Cosmetic Surgery at an All-Time High

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery released its tenth Consumer Attitudes Study. The study has been taking the nation's pulse for the past decade, charting the American public's general feelings toward cosmetic surgery in a variety of areas. Following a ten-year trend of increasingly positive results, the study's 2007 edition finds the nation's approval of cosmetic surgery to be at an all-time high.

According to the February 2007 report of one-thousand Americans aged eighteen and above, sixty-two percent of respondents are in favor of cosmetic surgery. This marks an eight percent increase from 2006, and narrowly edges out the sixty-one point eight percent approval rate in 2001, making it the highest reported approval rating since the survey was implemented.

New Colorectal Cancer Resource Available

In time for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is encouraging people to get educated about the disease by updating its colorectal cancer patient brochure.

An estimated one-hundred-fifty-three thousand, seven-hundred sixty people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2007, according to the American Cancer Society. Starting at age fifty, both men and women are encouraged to be screened for colorectal cancer by a test called a colonoscopy.
