Sandra Marsh Management Opens a Music Division

New Department Will Serve as One-Stop Resource for Filmmakers Seeking Composers, Music Supervisors and Music Editors

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sandra Marsh Management, an international entertainment agency founded in 1985 with offices in Los Angeles and London, whose motto is "the finest talent behind the camera," has opened a Music Department devoted to representing composers, music supervisors and music editors in film, television and commercials. Headed by film music veteran Rochelle Sharpe, the department was established in 2006 to serve the needs of producers, directors and studio executives, many of whom have, over the past 21 years, come to rely on the recommendations of Sandra Marsh Management when hiring department heads (producers, production designers, directors of photography, editors, costume designers, 2nd Unit Directors, and visual effects personnel) for projects.

The current talent roster of the new music department includes Bruno Coulais, an Oscar nominee and Cesar Winner for his music to Les Choristes; Michael Nyman, multiple Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee for his scores to "The Piano", "Gattaca" and "End of the Affair"; Jane Antonia Cornish, winner of the 2005 BAFTA Anthony Asquith New Composer award; Julio Reyes Copello, a Latin Grammy Award winner; Sebastian Arocha Morton, recipient of a recent Grammy nomination for his work on the soundtrack to Little Miss Sunshine; and Stanislaw Syrewicz, a Cable Ace winner for his score to the HBO film Stalin.

The department's music supervisors have worked on such films as Varsity Blues and After the Sunset, as well as numerous television series, including One Tree Hill, The Ghost Whisperer and Six Feet Under, among many others. Its music editors have worked on Prison Break, Lords of Dogtown, The Queen and The Constant Gardener, for which the London-based music editor Tony Lewis was nominated for the Motion Picture Sound Editors Gold Reel Award for Best Sound Editing in a Feature Film.

The head of the music department, Rochelle Sharpe, came to Sandra Marsh Management with a lengthy background in all aspects of the music and film industries. A concert pianist who toured, competed and taught extensively from the time she was a child, she became a manager for film music at PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, working in music licensing and overseeing the placement of music in all the company's trailers. She then moved to Segue Music before becoming an independent music supervisor. Rochelle has worked on various films such as Ocean's Twelve, Bruce Almighty, Crossroads, Doctor Dolittle 3 and the TV series Queer Eye for the Straight Girl.

In addition to Coulais, Nyman, Cornish, Copello, Morton and Syrewicz, composers represented by the company include Michael Bearden, a composer, musical director and arranger who has performed and recorded with artists including Madonna, Rod Stewart, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Elton John; Stephen Thomas Cavit, who scored the upcoming Sundance documentary Everything's Cool and wrote three choral works that premiered at the Vatican in 2006; Carlo Giacco, an Australian composer who scored the upcoming Like Minds and December Boys; Andreas Kapsalis, who was chosen for the Sundance Composers Lab in 2005 and went on to compose music for the documentary Black Gold and the thriller Mulberry Street; and Steve Smith (Dirty Vegas), a Grammy-winning artist who wrote the theme song to the Fox TV series Standoff and the score to the film Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down.
