Oxygen's President's Day Survey Finds the U.S. Is Ready for a Woman President!

85% of Women and 66% of Men Would Vote For A Woman President

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Oxygen's Presidents Day Survey found that the overwhelming majority of the U.S., both women AND men, are ready for a woman president. 85% of women polled and 66% of men polled said they would vote for a woman president. In addition, both women AND men think that a female president can do as good of a job as a male president -- 92% and 73% respectively.

In addition, the majority of people polled think that a female president would be more effective than a male president in handling certain presidential duties:

-- 92% of women and 74% of men think a female would be more effective at
handling education
-- 92% of women and 73% of men think a female would be more effective at
handling healthcare
-- 87% of women and 72% of men think a female would be more effective at
balancing the budget
-- 80% of women and 58% of men think a female would be more effective at
handling social security

The only presidential duty where people thought that a male candidate would be more effective was for military decisions and priorities -- 36% of women and 14% of men thought that a woman would be more effective at handing those duties.
