New Media Meets Entertainment With 'Soup of the Day,' a Romantic Comedy Premiering February 6 on DVD, Based on the Popular Internet Series

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 6, Echo Bridge Home Entertainment will release the sexy comedy "Soup of the Day" -- the full-length feature film version of the hugely popular episodic Internet series that attracted 9 million online views in 2006. The two-disc DVD is $19.99 SRP. It will offer three hours of bonus footage including: bloopers and deleted scenes, filmmaker commentary, cast interviews, 19 original webisodes, and a never before seen, alternate ending.

Originally seen as weekly webisodes on YouTube and other sites, "Soup of the Day" is the story of one guy in "committed relationships" with three girlfriends. According to Scott Zakarin, director, producer and co-writer, the film is "audience empowered relationship entertainment." From week to week, millions of online viewers interacted with the characters via social blogging on MySpace.com, helping to inform their relationship decisions.

Synopsis: Brandon Craig (Jon Crowley) is a regular guy who loves split pea soup and is in "monogamous relationships" with three amazing women: Monique (Catherine Reitman), his photo editor boss; Wendy (Patty Wortham), an undercover cop; and Franki (Tina Molina), host of a popular Internet show. Brandon knows he must eventually choose between them, but when all three women wind up simultaneously in the same place to sample Brandon's favorite soup, his love life boils over!

To celebrate the DVD launch, "Soup of the Day" cast members will participate in a "virtual premiere" and online chat which will be streamed live February 6. Fans are invited -- prizes will be awarded -- so don't miss the fun!
