New Album Features Moore's Songwriting Debut and Will Be Released Via The Firm Music/EMI Partnership
NEW YORK, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Mandy Moore will release her new, highly anticipated album, "Wild Hope," on May 8 via the innovative partnership between The Firm Music and EMI Distribution.
Recorded at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, NY and produced by John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Liz Phair), "Wild Hope" epitomizes a labor of love and showcases Moore's foray into songwriting. In collaboration with a slew of critically acclaimed singer-songwriters such as Rachael Yamagata, The Weepies, and Lori McKenna, among others, the result of this two year endeavor is an organic, folk album with pop sensibilities boasting beautifully constructed melodies, compelling vocals and sophisticated lyrical content.
"Wild Hope," clearly influenced by consummate artists such as Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac, commences with the striking song, "Extraordinary," a collaboration with indie pop-folk duo, The Weepies and concludes with the breathtaking ballad, "Gardenia," co-written by Chantal Kreviazuk. Moore penned songs like the upbeat "All Good Things," also with The Weepies, the revealing "Most of Me" with Lori McKenna and "Ladies Choice" -- a steadfast & symphonious anthem -- with Rachael Yamagata.
"Making this record has been the most exciting and fulfilling creative experience of my life," Moore explains. "I knew exactly what type of album I wanted to make & firmly held my ground." She continues, "It is therefore especially rewarding to be part of a venture in which artistic freedom is encouraged," Moore proudly states in reference to the progressive label deal designed to better benefit artists, while affording them substantial creative input.
In July 2006, entertainment talent management company The Firm and EMI North America announced the launch of Firm Music, a unique artist-friendly venture, which has taken the unprecedented step of splitting all revenues with artists signed to the company rather than the traditional royalty structure. EMI will distribute Firm Music in the U.S., and has licensing rights for the rest of the world.
Moore, a multi-talent who has already achieved an impressive level of crossover success, will also appear in multiple films this year co-starring with the likes of Diane Keaton, Robin Williams and Billy Crudup, among other esteemed actors.
