Gov. Mike Huckabee to be Guest on MSNBC's Imus Show on Wed., Jan. 10 at 8:29 am ET

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Governor Mike Huckabee (AR), who left office on Monday, will be a guest on MSNBC's "Imus in the Morning" Show on Wednesday, January 10 at approximately 8:29 am ET.

Huckabee will be on the Daily Imus to kick-off a national book tour for his new book, "From Hope to Higher Ground: 12 STOPS to Restoring America's Greatness." The book went on sale last week.

Huckabee, a Baptist minister and former pastor, was elected lieutenant governor in a special election in 1993 to replace Jim Guy Tucker, who ascended to governor when Bill Clinton resigned as Arkansas' chief executive after he was elected president in 1992.

He was re-elected in 1994 and succeeded Tucker as governor two years later when Tucker resigned. He was elected to a full four-year gubernatorial term of his own in 1998 and was re-elected in 2002. Huckabee was prevented by term limits from seeking a third term in 2006.

Named by Governing Magazine as the "Public Official of the Year" in 2005 and by Time Magazine's "Top Five Governors," Gov. Huckabee has held several national leadership positions, including serving as chairman of 50-state bipartisan National Governors Association, the prestigious Education Commission of the States, the Southern Governors' Association, and the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact.
