Historic Highlights of President Ford Remembrances and Memorials Available Free of Charge to Eastern Division Digital Cable Customers

OAKS, Pa., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Comcast Cable Eastern Division and CN8, The Comcast Network, today announced the availability of special footage from President Gerald R. Ford's memorial services ON DEMAND. The offerings will include nine highlights packages of the services at the National Cathedral, the funeral procession, reception of the body, funeral dismissal and remembrances and eulogies of former President Ford from elected officials, dignitaries and friends of the family, including President George W. Bush.

"The memorial ceremonies surrounding former President Ford's death were both historical and extremely moving, and we are pleased that we can use the power of video on demand to allow our digital cable customers to watch highlights of their choosing at their own convenience," said Michael Doyle, president, Comcast Cable Eastern Division and founder, CN8, The Comcast Network. "Over the past year we have increasingly used ON DEMAND to deliver a public service to our customers through content such as candidate interviews, holiday greetings from troop members, and now these poignant moments in our nation's history."

The "Death of a President" remembrance segments are available starting January 5 to digital cable customers throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. Customers can view these programs ON DEMAND by going to Get Local/CN8 Originals then selecting Pres. Ford Funeral. Highlights were compiled by CN8, The Comcast Network and will be available through February 1, completely free of charge.

The special President Ford memorial segments are part of Comcast's growing ON DEMAND lineup, which offers more than 8,000 programs a month that can be viewed on a customers' own schedule with the ability to pause, fast-forward and rewind. Approximately 95% of Comcast ON DEMAND content is free.

Comcast also announced today that it will make highlights from select inauguration ceremonies throughout its footprint, along with the January 23 State of the Union address, available ON DEMAND.
