Topline Urban Films Announces New Deal with Lightyear LP and Warner Home Video

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Topline Urban Films LLC, formally Topline Urbanworks LLC, is pleased to announce that it has inked a deal with Lightyear LP and Warner Home Video/WEA for world-wide distribution of its productions, "Virginia" and "Short Fuse".

The story of "Short Fuse" is about a boxer, SHANE, played by Demetrius Navarro (E.R.), who after being suspended for a year by the boxing commission gets a chance to fight again in Las Vegas against the super welter champion of the world, FRANCISCO "PANCHITO" BOJADO, a.k.a. The Baby Faced Assassin. SHANE takes a road trip with his long-time friend and manager, DOGAN, Godfrey Danchimah, (Soul Plane, Johnson Family Vacation, Zoolander, The Cook Out, and former 7-UP pitch man) and along the way, innocently stumbles into the underworld of drugs. In their attempt to remedy the situation, they meet SOPHIA, Paige Moss, (Its all relevant) who tries to help them.

"Virginia," a contemporary version of a female Huck Finn and set in modern day Los Angeles during the holiday season, is the story of what happens when a child named VIRGINIA, played by Ms. Paige Hurd, (Beauty Shop, Time Out, Cat In The Hat, Cradle To The Grave) is abandoned by her mother KELLY, played by Yeniffer Behrens, (A Day Without A Mexican) a heroin addict, seeking to get better, leaving her in the questionable hands of her boyfriend GRIFFIN, Godfrey Danchimah.

Griffin, a reluctant stepfather figure takes the 11 year-old Ginny in search of her biological father, ROSS MORE, played by Dwight Hicks, (The Rock, Armageddon), except they don't know what he looks like or where to find him. Together they set out on a rollicking journey through Koreatown, her father's last known address, hustling every sucker in sight and proving time and time again that no matter how much money you make, it's no fun unless you're making it with somebody you love. "Virginia" has a feeling of "Paper Moon" meets "Fight Club."
