Insight Bowl and Texas Bowl Games to be Telecast Live on Time Warner Cable in North Texas

Time Warner Cable announced today that Texas Tech fans will be able to watch the Insight Bowl between Texas Tech and the University of Minnesota live at 6:30 p.m. on December 29. Also, the Texas Bowl between Rutgers University and Kansas State University will be telecast live at 7:00 p.m. on December 28. Both bowl games will be available to Time Warner Cable customers in North Texas. Digital Cable customers will see the games on Digital Channel 960 - also known as the Special Events Channel. Standard Cable customers will be able to watch both games on the local Leased Access channel (channel 15, 61, or 95 depending on location).

Additionally, a seven-day "freeview" of the NFL Network will be seen on Digital Cable Channel 960, where available in North Texas. Initially offered only to New York and New Jersey areas, the "freeview" was extended to Texas customers after further discussions between Time Warner Cable and NFLN. "We are particularly pleased to have the opportunity to provide the telecast of the Texas Tech game," said Rob Moel, Division President Time Warner Cable North Texas, "It's a great chance to support Texas football, and to add another game to the many games our avid sports fans are watching this season."

The "freeview" of the NFL Network on Channel 960 will be available, to cable customers subscribing to Digital Cable, beginning at 5:00 A.M. (CST) on December 24 to 7:00 P.M. (CST) on December 30 (seen on Digital Channel 960 where available). The Texas Bowl and the Insight Bowl will be seen by customers with standard cable (analog) service on local Leased Access - widely seen in North Texas on either Channel 15, 61, or 95, depending on the location. Customers should check their guide for their local "Leased Access" channel position.
