Adult Music Artists Top This Season's Annual VH1 Holiday CD Poll

Music Legends U2, The Beatles and Johnny Cash as Well as Country Artists Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban Rank Among Top 10 on VH1's Annual Holiday CD Wish List Poll

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Adult music artists are still alive and kicking their way to the top of the charts, according to the 4th annual VH1 Holiday CD Poll.

Legendary adult music artists including U2, The Beatles and Johnny Cash lead the pack in the telephone poll commissioned by VH1 that asked adults across the country which music CD they would like to receive this holiday season.

In fact, the only artist under 25 years of age in the Top 10 is Carrie Underwood with "Some Hearts," her first release since winning the "American Idol" competition in 2005.

Country music also influenced people's choices heavily this year with Cash, Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban all landing in the Top 10.

"It's all about the 'grown-ups' table' this holiday season in the music world. The poll reaffirms the stature of adult artists and the incredibly strong connection and history that they have with music fans across the country," said Rick Krim, Executive Vice President, Music and Talent Programming, VH1. "Country music is also having a phenomenal year, appealing to music fans across the board."

U2's "U218 Singles" CD and limited edition DVD ranked #1 overall in a telephone poll commissioned by VH1 that surveyed a random national sample of 960 20-49 year-olds who listen to music.
