WORLDSPACE(R) Music Executives Tapped to Participate in BRIT Awards' Nominee Selection Process

Sabatini and Kelly Become First Americans Chosen; a Great Kick-off for a 'Holly' Jolly WORLDSPACE Holiday Season in December

SILVER SPRING, Md., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- BRIT Awards participation, new "Holly" Christmas music channel, continued live ball-by-ball cricket coverage and the "Soundtrack of Your Life" programming initiative close out a content- packed year at WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services.

For the first time in history, American broadcasters were invited by the British Phonographic Industry to take part in the nominee selection process for the annual BRIT Awards. WORLDSPACE Satellite Radio's William Sabatini, vice president of global programming, and Ted Kelly, UPOP 29 program director and vice president of content promotions and events, were invited to participate in the selection of nominees for the 2007 BRIT Awards, scheduled for broadcast on British television on February 14, 2007. The BRIT Awards are the annual United Kingdom pop music awards founded by BPI to recognize British and international solo artists, groups, and albums. The selection process for the 2007 awards begins later this month.

Each year, WORLDSPACE kicks off its coverage of the BRIT Awards with three days of performances and live recordings at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, featuring today's and tomorrow's hottest pop stars. Look for more information about this popular event, UPop@Abbey Road Sessions, on the WORLDSPACE web site (http://www.worldspace.com/) next month.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the British Phonographic Industry as an important voice of the global pop music scene," said William Sabatini. "We are delighted to participate in this prestigious selection process for the BRIT Awards."

To get subscribers in a festive, holiday spirit, WORLDSPACE began broadcasting its Christmas music channel, Holly, which spans a wide variety of music genres/formats from rock and roll to hip hop to country. Listen to Holly throughout the month of December, and stay tuned for a new format starting in 2007 on AsiaStar's Channel 100 and for the return to AfriStar of WorldZone, bringing listeners world music from the four corners of the globe.

In addition to holiday cheer, WORLDSPACE sports fans can continue to listen to PLAY (channel 520) for live ball-by-ball coverage of cricket, including the famous Ashes Tournament featuring England and Australia, as well as India's tour of South Africa and Sri Lanka's tour of New Zealand.

December is also the last month for subscribers to tune into the 'Soundtrack of Your Life,' a first-of-its-kind satellite radio programming initiative featuring music from some of the greatest movies from Bollywood to Hollywood. Throughout the month of December, WORLDSPACE channels Bob (177), Tunak (108), Riff (222), Sparsha (106), Orbit Rock (176), Amore (13), Falak (109) and Tara (104) will highlight songs from some of the most memorable movies in history and will also feature exclusive interviews with composers, actors and directors. The WORLDSPACE Satellite Radio website provides visitors with a full schedule of songs and movies airing throughout the month as well as links to sites where they can buy their favorite soundtracks.

"At WORLDSPACE we are dedicated to providing our global subscribers with access to leading-edge, unique content and this month will be no different. Our listeners will have access to fresh new program offerings as we conclude the year and look ahead to 2007," added Sabatini.
