San Francisco Company Finds Niche in New Media Entertainment: Women's Lifestyle Interests

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Soma Management, a digital media and entertainment company, announces the launch of ten original video channels aimed at women age 13 to 54 for broadband and mobile distribution.

Beginning, November 13, the channels hope to attract a piece of the growing online and mobile media viewership with its short form entertaining and compelling video -- focusing around women's lifestyle concerns which include health, beauty, fashion, travel and luxury. Likewise, these channels will be servicing the increasing demand for advertisers to be a part of the booming internet video marketplace and have the unique opportunity to be organically integrated in the channels' original programming.

A few of the company's channels include somabeauty.tv, somahealth.tv and somagirls.tv. These separate channels, named after the specific type of content contained in each and attached with the Soma prefix, will be delivered monthly on a subscription basis for online and mobile content providers. The per-channel offering will provide subscribers with 2 to 6 original videos and 50 rights-managed images, as well as, corresponding articles.

Specifically, subscribers of somagirls.tv will have access to content focused around teen girls' interests in fashion and celebrity gossip; where as a subscription for somahealth.tv will be concerned with promoting women's health and wellness through non-traditional exercise regiments such as ayurveda and yoga. Additionally, not to totally isolate themselves from the ever dominant male segment in online viewership, Soma Management will also put forth one channel called somasexy.tv targeting men 18 to 35. The channel will provide broadband and mobile sexy material that men would more desire.

Advertisers will have opportunities for product placement and sponsorship in and around the original video content provided through each channel which will be developed at the Soma production studio in San Francisco, CA.
