NEW YORK, Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin Records rock quintet THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS' debut album DON'T YOU FAKE IT has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for U.S. sales exceeding a half-million copies, the label announced today. The album was released just 4 months ago on July 18, 2006, and entered the Billboard Top 200 national album sales chart at #25.

The Jacksonville, Florida-based band is Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Elias Reidy (guitar, backing vocals), Duke Kitchens (guitar, piano, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals) and Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals). The first RJA single and video, "Face Down," an urgent, unflinching and personally-felt indictment of domestic abuse, has touched a universal chord, becoming a massive video and on-line hit upon its June debut. The track is currently in the #8 position on the Alternative Radio charts, and on MySpace.com, "Face Down" has generated an astonishing 7.7 million audio streams, of a total stream count of all songs exceeding 18 million to date. The band has additionally been featured on AOL's 'Sessions Under Cover', and scored placement as a Yahoo! Music 'Who's Next: User's Choice' artist. In its debut week, DON'T YOU FAKE IT was also Top 10 in iTune's daily chart of most-downloaded full albums.

During the month of October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) partnered with Virgin Records and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, for a fundraiser to help support NCADV's efforts to fight Domestic Violence and it's effects on America's younger generation. The partnership, also includes television, print and radio PSA's using "Face Down" and donations from sales of specially designed t-shirts and merchandise, will continue throughout the band's national headlining tour.

Following the band's non-stop year-end touring schedule (see dates below), THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS will headline the 2007 Take Action! Tour, scheduled to kick off in early February. The forty-city annual tour benefits the Youth America Hotline! (YAH!), encouraging the young to engage with local organizations to combat depression and suicide.
