Destined to Become an Animated Christmastime Classic, The Very First Noel Features Andy Griffith as Narrator in This Christmas Tale Airing on Ch. 103

DALLAS, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Very First Noel, Exclaim Entertainment's brand-new animated Christmas special featuring the voice of Andy Griffith (as Melchior), will be available on DirecTV throughout the entire holiday season! Starting Friday, November 24 (the day after Thanksgiving) and running through December 31, The Very First Noel will air daily on a regular basis on DirecTV Channel 103.

Created by the award-winning animation team Carrie and Yarrow Cheney, The Very First Noel is in the tradition of the classic animated Christmas specials from the 1960s and '70s. "Those shows had charm and sincerity that brought so much to us as kids," says Carrie Cheney. "We wanted to create a new show with the same warmth and heart."

Using beautifully crafted 3D animation and whimsical rhyme throughout, the story is told by Griffith. As the voice of Melchior, one of the Three Wise Men who traveled from the East to see the newborn King of Kings, Griffith brings a charming familiarity to the beloved Christmas story. The program also features a captivating soundtrack of Christmas carols performed by The Brothers Cazimero from Hawaii.

The Very First Noel is available at Wal-Mart and other retailers, as well as online at http://www.veryfirstnoel.com/ this Christmas season. A seven-year labor of love by the Cheneys, the program is sure to become an instant Christmas classic, drawing families together for years to come.
