WHO: For the first time ever, a live high-definition downlink from the
International Space Station will allow Discovery HD subscribers
the clearest look yet at Earth. Never before have HD cameras
transmitted (broadcast) live from space -- until now. The
downlink is made possible through a cooperative effort by NASA,
Discovery Communications, Inc. and NHK.

Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria will address a nationwide audience
during the downlink, sharing a meal while discussing the
importance of diet and nutrition on long duration spaceflight.
Lopez-Alegria, along with Thomas Reiter (European Space Agency)
and Cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin (Russia) make up the Expedition-14
crew of the International Space Station.

WHAT: When the Space Shuttle Atlantis launched in September it carried
some unique cargo -- a Sony HD 750A camera and special new HD
transmission hardware to be delivered to the International Space
Station. The camera has now been un-stowed and readied for its
first live transmission giving viewers some crystal clear images
of the astronauts and their daily routines as well as vivid fly
over earth views.

WHERE: Discovery HD Theater -- available on digital cable and satellite

WHEN: Wednesday, November 15, 11:30 a.m. ET
