E! Entertainment Television Announces Major Partnership With the Environmental Media Association (EMA)

New Alliance Raises Environmental Awareness and Inspires Action Through Joint Initiatives Including the First 'Green' Golden Globes Party and a 'Play A Part' Celebrity PSA Campaign

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- E! Entertainment Television expands its pro-social initiative "Play A Part" through an unprecedented partnership with the Environmental Media Association (EMA) -- the nation's foremost organization uniting the entertainment industry behind environmental causes -- it was announced today by E! Networks' Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Suzanne Kolb.

Capitalizing on E!'s influence with its viewers and the entertainment industry as a whole, the major new collaboration with EMA strives to expand public awareness of environmental issues and to provide simple ways individuals can play a part in improving our environment.

"There is perhaps no cause that impacts society more universally than the environment," said Kolb. "E! Entertainment Television is proud to partner with the Environmental Media Association to further their exceptional efforts to motivate change and to further protect the environment."

"This is a wonderful opportunity to expose E! Entertainment's tremendous audience to easy and effective ways to incorporate environmental lifestyle actions into their daily lives. Already looking to them for pop culture lifestyle cues, the partnership can be remarkably effective in reaching a mass that might not otherwise have the information that has been proven to thwart the progression of global climate change," said Debbie Levin, President, the Environmental Media Association.

Major elements of the multi-faceted media partnership, include:

* The first annual "Green" Golden Globes party -- a Hollywood first, E!
joins EMA and 9900 Wilshire in throwing the best and most eco-friendly
post-Golden Globes party in town. Hollywood's elite will party into
the evening in an environmentally responsible way, while E! viewers
will get "behind the velvet rope" access to one of the evening's
hottest parties.

* An extensive EMA Public Service Announcement campaign -- tapping some
of film and television's favorite celebrities, the "Play A Part" PSA
campaign features celebrities challenging viewers to "Play A Part" by
adopting simple changes to their daily routine that will positively
impact the health of the environment. The PSAs will air throughout the
year on E! and THE VINE @ E! Online.

Participating celebrities include: Ed Begley Jr., Kristin Davis, Daryl
Hannah, Anthony Kiedis, Wendie Malick, Nicole Richie, Jeffrey Tambor,
Wilmer Valderrama, Constance Zimmer, and many others.

Sample EMA PSA tips: Using a reusable mug when purchasing your coffee
for the day will help save 13,000 trees per day. Using a reusable
nylon grocery bag will help to save the trees required to produce paper
supermarket bags (1 tree for every 700 paper supermarket bags).

* Exclusive E! broadcast of the 16th Annual Environmental Media Awards --
a half-hour E! special features "green carpet" celebrity arrivals,
celebrity environmental tips, the EMA Awards show (honoring film and
television productions that increase public awareness of environmental
issues) and a sneak peek inside the unique post party bash. The EMA
Awards air on E!, Tuesday, November 28 at 6 pm et/pt.

The alliance with EMA is a new component of E!'s ongoing pro-social initiative "Play A Part" -- dedicated to supporting and communicating causes that impact society as a whole, and most importantly, providing the E! audience with the information they need to make a difference in their community.
