LAS VEGAS, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Salsa Seven Inc., the company responsible for the World Salsa Championships, announces the 2nd annual World Salsa Championships December 13-16 in Las Vegas at the new South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, formerly known as the South Coast Hotel & Casino.
Salsa dancing has taken off as an international phenomenon as competitors from more than 20 countries on six continents are set to compete in the 2nd annual World Salsa Championships. The pool of championship qualifiers were drawn from official championship dance competitions known as congresses in such locations as far as New Zealand, Korea, Sweden, Turkey, China and other countries not generally recognized for Salsa dancing.
"Salsa dancing is becoming a revolution," said Albert Torres, member of The Salsa Seven Inc. and renowned salsa celebrity. "Where previously this was a Latin obsession, it is now transcending all demographics, nationalities and national boundaries. We've seen the popularity of salsa dancing in TV Shows including 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Dancing with the Stars' and now the public can come and view live professional salsa dancers and witness the results of the global fever of salsa dancing in this championship event."
Those interested in competing in the World Salsa Championships who weren't able to audition beforehand can audition for the championships on the evening of December 13 for a fee of $100 dollars per couple.
