Sam's Club Partners With Warner Bros. on Advance Screenings of the Inspirational Holiday Release WE ARE MARSHALL

Sam's Club Embraces the Film's Powerful Messages of Overcoming Adversity and Community

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sam's Club and Warner Bros. Entertainment have formed a unique and groundbreaking promotional partnership around the theatrical release of WE ARE MARSHALL, starring Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox and directed by McG. Sam's Club Members will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase and host private advance screenings of the film. Based on true events, the story recounts how a community came together in the aftermath of the devastating plane crash that took the lives of the entire Marshall University football team. Under the guidance of an inspirational coach, the University fielded an untested team whose greatest challenge is not winning or losing -- but playing.

"WE ARE MARSHALL is truly an inspiring film and we know it will resonate with all of our Sam's Club Members. The profound messages of motivation, inspiration and hope are highlighted by an all-star cast. We are proud to align ourselves with a film of this caliber and a story filled with this much heart," said Doug McMillon, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sam's Club.

All 574 Sam's Club locations in the U.S. will offer private advance screening packages for purchase exclusively by Sam's Club Members. Screening packages are available in blocks for 250 people on scheduled dates prior to the December 22nd theatrical opening.

While individuals can purchase a screening for families and friends, Sam's Club is encouraging its Members through direct outreach and through in-club displays to sponsor screenings within their communities for schools, sports teams, clubs and other local organizations.

"WE ARE MARSHALL is an extraordinarily uplifting film and we are absolutely delighted that Sam's Club is helping to spread the message of hope and strength that grew out of this tragedy," said Jeff Robinov, President, Production, Warner Bros Pictures.

Warner Bros. has leveraged its relationships with local theatres in proximity to all 574 Sam's Clubs to arrange for the screenings. They will be available on December 6, 7, 13 and 14. A number of packages have already been purchased by football programs, community leaders and people who have been inspired by the story of Marshall University.

"Sam's Club has been a great partner of Warner Bros. over the years and this effort demonstrates their desire to serve the communities where they do business. Sam's Club shares the values and spirit of this film, and has created a program that will allow individuals, organizations and communities to come together and host their own premieres for this moving and important film," stated Kevin Tsujihara, President of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.
