ATM and Check Bouncing Fees at an All-Time High

Bankrate reports that A-T-M and check bouncing fees have hit a new record high. A-T-M fees average a dollar-64, and bouncing fees average 27-dollars-64 cents. The research compiled in Bankrate's fall 2006 Checking Study also found that balance requirements on interest accounts are at a new high; monthly fees on non-interest accounts are at a new record low; and that fewer banks are charging their own customers for using another bank's A-T-M.

Survey Results: U.S. Doctors Discouraged, Low Morale Prevalent

Doctors are exhausted. They're burned out. The stress of their work is causing marital and family discord. And more than half of the physicians who participated in a recent survey are so fed up that they have considered leaving the practice of medicine altogether.

Those are just a few of the findings of the 2006 American College of Physician Executives' Physician Morale Survey. The survey findings are being reported in the November/December issue of The Physician Executive Journal of Medical Management.

NEWSWEEK POLL: Among Likely Voters, Democratic Candidates Lead 53 to 39 Percent Over Republicans

If the midterm elections for Congress were held today, the latest Newsweek Poll shows, 53 percent of likely voters would vote for the Democrat in their Congressional district, while 39 percent would vote for the Republican. Among registered voters, 49 percent would vote for the Democratic candidate and 38 percent would vote for the Republican.
