Boone Was So Thrilled at the Invitation He Felt a Special Invitation Deserves a Special Gift and He Presented Rev. Jackson With a Specially Made Pair of His Signature White Buck Shoes, Which Caused a Media-Photo Frenzy

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Pat Boone was a special guest of Rev. Jesse Jackson at Jackson's 9th Annual RainbowPUSH Awards Dinner and 40 Years of Service 65 (birth) Years in God's Grace Gala Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on October 09th.

Boone was thrilled upon receiving the invitation which was made on air personally by Rev. Jackson when he and music producer, Ollie E. Brown were interviewed by Santita Jackson (Rev. Jackson's daughter) on WVON Radio (Chicago) for his new CD Pat Boone R&B Classics -- We Are Family, produced by Brown. The legendary music great felt a special invitation deserves a special gift and so he presented Rev. Jackson with a specially made pair of his signature white buck shoes at the pre-gala press conference, which caused a media photo frenzy. Boone also presented Jackson with his latest CD. Jackson was extremely delighted.

The gala was a night to remember at the beautiful Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Guests were feted on chopped vegetable salad, cranberry chicken filled with wild rice and cranberries served with sweet and sour demi-glace, seasoned vegetables, assorted wines and a triple chocolate creamy Bavarian Tower dessert. A spectacular music performance followed by highly accomplished artists and performers that included James Ingram, A. Ray Fuller, The Temptations, George Duke and a special musical selection by Jackson's daughter Santita Jackson. A film clip highlighting Jackson's illustrious career in the service of mankind was shown to a packed filled room. While on stage during the main presentation, Jackson once again thanked Pat Boone for his gift and held up his white buck shoes for all to see. Both Pat Boone and Ollie E. Brown were seated next to Rev. Jackson at his table. Ollie E. Brown said he felt privileged to be invited and he had "chill bumps" to be seated next to someone he has always admired.

Among the celebrity and distinguished guests included: Byron Allen, Lee Bailey, Bill Duke, George Duke, Willis Edwards, Casey Kasem, Kashif, Greg Judge Mathis, Sidney Miller, Maxine Waters, Dianne Watson and Rev. Jackson's son Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr.
