Oscar-Nominated Actress Outs Son!

Oscar-Nominated Actress Outs Son!

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Oscar(R)-nominated actress Sally Kirkland ("Anna," "Bruce Almighty") outs her son, played by Jonathan Bray, in the funny new comedy, "Coffee Date." Rounding out the all-star ensemble, Jonathan Silverman (ABC's upcoming "In Case of Emergency," "Weekend at Bernie's"), Wilson Cruz ("My So-Called Life," "Noah's Arc"), Deborah Gibson ("Beauty & the Beast," "Cabaret"), Emmy(R)-winner Leigh Taylor-Young ("Passions," "Picket Fences"), Elaine Hendrix ("Parent Trap," "What the Bleep Do We Know?"), and the always hilarious Jason Stuart ("A Day Without A Mexican," "My Wife and Kids"), each deliver in this award-winning festival favorite, written and directed by Stewart Wade.

The much-anticipated "Coffee Date" premieres at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, CA on November 1st, with many celebrities expected. The film opens theatrically, in limited release throughout the country, starting November 10th.

"Coffee Date," produced by Cindy Peters with co-producer/writer/director Wade and associate producers Kirkland and Hendrix, is being distributed by Film and Music Entertainment, Inc. , helmed by Oscar-Winning Producer/Director John Daly ("Terminator," "Platoon," "The Last Emperor").

When an internet "Coffee Date" goes awry, comedy ensues ...

Uptight and impeccably groomed, Todd (Bray) is set up on an internet blind date by his brother Barry (Silverman). To Todd's surprise the date, Kelly, is a gay man (Cruz). The two strike up a friendship and take revenge on Barry by reversing the joke, sauntering past him holding hands. Convinced that Todd is gay, Barry calls their mother (Kirkland) who hops on the next plane. Despite Todd's vehement denials, Mom now sees Todd's love of movies and theatre, as well as his lack of interest in sports as clear signs she'd previously missed. It doesn't take long before everyone in his life thinks he's gay, including his boss (Taylor-Young) and co-workers (Gibson, Stuart). This bedroom farce gets even more complicated when Kelly's roommate (Hendrix) adds her chemistry to the fray! Heartfelt and hilarious, it is a must-see movie with something for everyone!
