Lionsgate Garners More Than 80% of Independent Stockholder Vote

In Image Entertainment Proxy Challenge

/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lionsgate (NYSE:LGF), the leading independent filmed entertainment studio, announced today that the final certified proxy tabulation of Image Entertainment's October 10, 2006 Annual Stockholders Meeting showed that Lionsgate's nominees captured between 38% and 43% of the votes cast. Image's slate received 56% of the votes cast.

Lionsgate noted that, while none of its nominees received enough votes to be elected, the final tally showed that, excluding the shares voted by Image management and two long-time, large stockholders of Image (collectively representing 51% of the total shares voting), Lionsgate's nominees received more than 80% of the votes cast by independent stockholders.
