"Who better than Willy Chirino, someone so beloved by our community, to represent our company," said Michael A. Seltzer, CEO Florida Medicare and Medicaid Products. "Embarking on this relationship demonstrates Humana's deep commitment to serving the Hispanic community throughout Florida."

A well-known Latin artist and composer who has achieved worldwide fame, admiration and success, Chirino has received countless awards, including a GRAMMY(R) for "Best Tropical Album of the Year," as well as a Hispanic Heritage Award, a FACE Award from UNICEF and a star on Miami's famous Calle Ocho.

In 1976, the United States Legion of Honor recognized Chirino for his humanitarian efforts. One night, while driving in Hialeah, the car in front of Chirino swerved off the highway and plunged into a canal. Chirino jumped into the water and broke one of the car windows so the passengers could escape, and ultimately, saving their lives.

Chirino continues to foster and convey a message of humanitas in Miami- Dade County through the Willy Chirino Foundation, a non-profit organization seeking social and economic empowerment of present and future generations.

"I'm excited and honored to partner with Humana, one of Florida's premier health benefits companies," said Chirino, "and I'm looking forward to helping Humana provide guidance to Hispanics throughout Florida on their health care needs."

Humana is Florida's largest Medicare health benefits provider with more than half a million members. In South Florida, Humana has more than 130,000 Medicare Advantage members.

Humana Inc., headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is one of the nation's largest publicly traded health benefits companies, with more than 11 million medical members. Humana offers a diversified portfolio of health insurance products and related services -- through traditional and consumer-choice plans -- to employer groups, government-sponsored plans, and individuals.

Over its 45-year history, Humana has consistently seized opportunities to meet changing customer needs. Today, the company is a leader in consumer engagement, providing guidance that leads to lower costs and a better health plan experience throughout its diversified customer portfolio.
