Iverson Set to Debut in Dap Body Spray Commercial

EDISON, N.J., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Barelle Development, manufacturer and distributor of Dap Body Spray for Men, will be launching a national television campaign later this month after completing their first commercial shoot in Atlanta two weeks ago.

Basketball sensation, Allen Iverson, recently signed by Barelle to endorse the Dap line, is featured in the spot. According to Barelle CEO, Frank Barone, Iverson will be cast in a far different light than what people are familiar seeing him in.

"Allen is typically depicted as a warrior-like figure, which he most certainly is on the court," said Barone. "But we wanted to show another side to him, one that many have not had the opportunity to see. Allen is a very engaging, intelligent, and personable gentleman. His professionalism and cooperation during the shoot was second to none and really allowed us to portray him in this alternate light."

The commercial was shot by Visionary Media of Atlanta and directed by Todd 1 who was instrumental in bringing out this other side of Iverson.

"First and foremost I wanted to make sure we didn't jeopardize the integrity and image of Allen Iverson. I think we were successful in accomplishing that," said Todd 1.

With the first shoot a resounding success, look for additional ones in the very near future, according to Barone.

"This spot is the first of many advertisements that will feature Allen Iverson as the professional he is. He embodies the Dap brand, which speaks to 'inclusion' over 'exclusion,' being true to oneself ... being real. We couldn't think of a better ambassador for this brand than Allen."

The commercial is set to debut during the last week of October.

A full-scale retail roll out is planned for 2007, but currently Dap Body Spray is only available on the Internet at www.dapcircle.com.
