SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Borders will celebrate the grand opening of its 20,000-square-foot store in San Francisco -- located in the Westfield San Francisco Centre at 845 Market St. -- beginning Friday, Oct. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 22. Throughout the weekend, special activities are planned including author autographing sessions, children's events, live music and a Seattle's Best Coffee(R) First Pour ceremony. During the celebration, Borders will give away prizes including two $250 Borders gift cards, a Sony(R) Sport MP3 Player and a set of Borders Classics books.

All weekend -
* Enter to win one of two $250 Borders gift cards. Winner will be
drawn at the end of the weekend.
* Enter to win a Sony(R) Sport MP3 Player and Noise Canceling
Headphones. Winner will be drawn at the end of the weekend.
* Enter to win a set of Borders Classics books. Winner will be drawn

Friday, Oct. 20 -
* 12 to 2 p.m. -- Attend a performance by local pianist Brian Kelly.
* 1 p.m. -- Sample fresh brewed smooth coffee at the Seattle's Best
Coffee(R) First Pour ceremony with toastmaster Webster, afternoon
voice of Alice Radio on 97.3 FM.
* 3 p.m. -- Attend a performance by local singer-songwriter Isul Kim.
* 4 p.m. -- Enter the Universal Trivia contest to win CDs and DVDs from
Universal Music Group(R) and a Sony DVD player.
* 5 p.m. -- Attend a classical conversation with American soprano
Christine Brewer and conductor Donald Runnicles, moderated by Rik
Malone, assistant program director at Classical 102.1 FM. Christine
Brewer and Donald Runnicles will autograph copies of the CDs,
"Strauss: Four Last Songs" and "Wagner: Prelude and Liebestod from

* 7 p.m. -- Attend a performance from pianist and vocalist Shauna

Saturday, Oct. 21 -
* 10:00 a.m. -- Join us for a Nickelodeon story time. Fun-filled
activities will be available throughout the day.
* 11 a.m. -- Meet Meomi when they read from and autograph copies of

* Noon -- Join us for a story time when we read select "Pirates of the
Caribbean" books from Disney(R).

mascot, Lou Seal, and have your photo taken.
Sunday, Oct. 22 -
* All day -- Enter to win a Borders gift basket, filled with samples of
items Borders has to offer, including books, music, movies,
stationery and cafe items. Winner will be drawn at the end of the
day.
* 1 p.m. -- Attend an autographing session with Arcadia Publishing
authors: Judy Yung, Walt Vielbaum, Philip Hoffman, Grant Ute, John
Garvey and Ryder Miller.
* 2 p.m. -- Meet rock and soul artist, Nya Jade when she performs music
from her debut CD, "My Denial." A CD autographing session will
follow the performance.
* 3 p.m. -- Attend a local author showcase and meet local authors Marta
Acosta, Ann Roulac, and Dahlynn and Ken McCowen who will sign copies
of their latest books.
* 4 p.m. -- Attend a performance by roots-rock musician Brigette
DeMeyer.
