UL Certifies Stratos FTTx Interconnect Products

- SC APC-based components certified for full compliance with the Telcordia GR-326 -

CHICAGO, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stratos Optical Technologies, a supplier of high reliability fiberoptic connectors and components, has successfully completed and passed the full set of tests and facility audits by UL for its SC APC 900 um Type II Media Connector and Jumper Cable Assembly. The SC APC components are used as patchcords for central office and outside plant interconnects, and as pigtails for the ONU/home side, either for tri- plexers (enabling triple play) or bi-directional transceivers. These interconnect components are currently the top-selling products for FTTx fiber connectivity in the North American market by RBOCs.

The Stratos products are now certified to full compliance with Telcordia GR-326, Issue 3 general requirements, performance requirements, service life tests, and reliability tests. The ITL compliance also demonstrates manufacturer adherence to the standard Telcordia reliability assurance program. The Stratos internal manufacturing and process controls were also audited and certified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.

The certification of Stratos' SC APC line comes on the heels of certification by the North American Intermateability Program, which must be passed by all suppliers of FTTx connectivity in North America.
