Tigers Invite Fans to 'Rally Monday' Event at Comerica Park

Post-Season Rally on October 2nd from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. FREE to General Public

DETROIT, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- "Rally Monday" in Detroit, sponsored by AT&T, kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2006 in front of Comerica Park on Woodward Avenue. Celebrating the Tigers' first post-season run in 19 years, the event is free to the public and will feature a variety of activities designed for fans to show their support for the 2006 Tigers. The Tigers will start their run for the American League Division Series (ALDS) on Tuesday, October 3.

"We look forward to welcoming hundreds of fans to 'Rally Monday,'" said Duane McLean, Tigers senior vice president of Business Operations. "We are thrilled to share the excitement of the 2006 Detroit Tigers with the fans that have supported us this summer. This is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate an incredible season!"

Highlights for "Rally Monday" include:

* Michigan native and award-winning actor/playwright Jeff Daniels will perform his song, "The Lifelong Tiger Fan Blues Revisited" live at the event.

* Former Tiger greats will be on hand signing autographs for fans at this Tigers post-season celebration. Currently scheduled to sign autographs are: Gates Brown, Barbaro Garbey, Alex Johnson, Scott Lusader, Larry Pashnick, Dan Petry and Jon Warden.(1)

* Fox Sports Net Detroit's Mario Impemba and Rod Allen will emcee the event -- which will also include a special appearance by Tigers Hall-of-Fame broadcaster, Ernie Harwell. Former Tiger Champions Al Kaline and Willie Horton are also currently scheduled to make an appearance on stage at "Rally Monday."

* The Major League Baseball Road Show will be on site featuring an MLB Authentic Collection Merchandise area, a cyber ballpark gaming area, a batting cage and a pitching cage.

* Local band 50 Amp Fuse will perform "live."
* Fans invited to sign a giant "GO TIGERS" billboard.
* Exclusive playoff merchandise on sale.

Additionally, the first 2,500 fans will receive a free Tigers Rally Towel and the first 5,000 fans in attendance will have an opportunity to win American League Division Series tickets. In addition, the first 5,000 fans can enter to win game-used bases and baseballs from the 2006 ALDS games to be played at Comerica Park.

"We want Tigers fans everywhere to be a part of the celebration," added McLean. "Whether in person at the 'Rally Monday' event at Comerica Park or spirit days at schools and businesses, this is a great time for our city and for our state and we want everyone to participate." The Detroit Tigers are asking fans across the State to wear Tigers gear or Tigers colors to show their support.

The following radio stations will carry the event live: WRIF, WKQI, WWJ, WXYT, 89X/CIMX and WCSX. Local television stations in Detroit are also currently scheduled to cover the event. Fans are encouraged to check station listings for more complete broadcast information on Monday.

Finally, Tigers broadcast partner FSN Detroit will include coverage of "Rally Monday" on its Playoff Preview Show which is scheduled to air Monday night, October 2, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
