George Lucas will preside as Grand Marshal over the 2007 Tournament of Roses, themed Our Good Nature. Tournament of Roses President Paul L. Holman was joined on stage by Chewbacca and Wicket to announce the extraordinary filmmaker as Grand Marshal who will lead the New Year's Day celebration in Pasadena. New Study Finds Obesity on the Rise

Obesity continues to be a major public health problem. A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that the number of obese adults in the United States has increased significantly over the past ten years. Six in ten adults aged 18 and over are either overweight or obese; one in four is obese. Increasing obesity rates are prevalent throughout the country. In 1995, every state had an obesity rate of less than 20 percent. In 2005, 46 states had obesity rates higher than 20 percent, and three states had obesity rates above 30 percent.

Two-Thirds of Americans Are Living Paycheck to Paycheck

If living paycheck to paycheck has you stressed out, you're not alone. About 65 percent of Americans are dependent on their next paycheck to meet current living expenses, according to a recent survey. The majority of workers in the United States would be hard-pressed to meet their financial obligations if their next paycheck were delayed for just a week, according to results from the American Payroll Association's 2006 "Getting Paid In America" online survey. In answering a related question, 81 percent of survey respondents said the raises they receive each year aren't enough to cover the increasing cost of living.
