Kristin Chenoweth Tells The New York Dog Magazine She Wants Her 10 Percent from Ex, Aaron Sorkin

Kristin Chenoweth Tells The New York Dog Magazine She Wants Her 10 Percent from Ex, Aaron Sorkin

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Kristin Chenoweth has revealed to Leslie Padgett, editor of "The New York Dog Magazine," that her ex-boyfriend Aaron Sorkin, creator of "The West Wing," used "pretty much verbatim" dialogue from arguments they had during their relationship in the script for his new TV show.

Sorkin admitted to The New York Times that the character of Harriet Hayes in "Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip" was based on the Tony Award-winning actress, whom he dated for 10 months. Harriet, like Chenoweth, is a comedy actress and born-again Christian. The character is the ex-girlfriend of writer Matt Albie, played by Matthew Perry.

"Some parts are verbatim me and I wonder if I'm going to get my 10 percent," she tells "The New York Dog Magazine" in the November issue. "There's an argument me and Aaron had and it's pretty much verbatim, but what are you going to do?"

The Harriet Hayes character, however, is opposed to gay rights -- something Chenoweth supports. "I'm totally the opposite of that and that's hard because people will be thinking: Is that really Kristin? But there's nothing you can do about that stuff. You just have to let it go. It's a little weird."

In "The New York Dog Magazine" Chenoweth added: "I'm touched I was any kind of inspiration to him."
