"The Kill" video was directed by newcomer Bartholomew Cubbins, and instantly became one of the most popular clips on MTV's various cable television and online platforms at its mid-spring release, for combining the band's passionate song with arresting visuals loosely inspired by the classic Stephen King horror film The Shining.
30 SECONDS TO MARS' second Virgin Records album, A BEAUTIFUL LIE, was certified gold last month by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies, almost exactly a year after its release. "The Kill," is currently a Top 3 hit at Modern Rock radio.
