CHEF'S STORY TV Series Now Prepping For Spring 2007 Debut

CHEF'S STORY TV Series Now Prepping For Spring 2007 Debut

NEW YORK, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- CHEF'S STORY, a new 26-part television series of interviews with today's most renowned chefs -- in a format inspired by Inside the Actor's Studio -- is now in post-production after its filming in New York.

Following Internet buzz among press, serious food fans, and the public that began during the series' taping schedule, the producers of CHEF'S STORY are preparing for a Spring 2007 debut on public television stations.

They are culling half-hour episodes from hour-long interviews with each chef, and creating exclusive downloads, podcasts, extras-saturated DVDs, and a heavily-illustrated companion book to excite future chefs and American "foodies" of all generations.

CHEF'S STORY was recorded before a student audience in April and May at The French Culinary Institute (The FCI) in New York City, one of America's foremost culinary institutions.

Dorothy Hamilton, The FCI founder and CEO as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The James Beard Foundation, conducted individual in-depth interviews with (in alphabetical order) Jose Andres, Dan Barber, Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless, David Bouley, Daniel Boulud, Anthony Bourdain, Tom Colicchio, Cat Cora, Robert Del Grande, Todd English, Dean Fearing, Bobby Flay, Suzanne Goin, Thomas Keller, Patrick O'Connell, Charlie Palmer, Jacques Pepin, Michel Richard, Alain Sailhac, Arun Sampanthavivat, Marcus Samuelsson, Andre Soltner, Jacques Torres, Charlie Trotter, Norman Van Aken, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

"These are icons, at the forefront of the American revolution of fine dining," said Hamilton. "Yet it is valuable to know who they are as people. They represent a fascinating arc that goes back to changes in American culinary tastes and dining that began in the 1970s and 80s. Talking with them provides a remarkable insight into food, culture, and success."

CHEF'S STORY is produced by Soho Culinary Productions, Full Plate Media, and Lemnos Development in association with The FCI. Executive Producers are Douglas A. P. Hamilton (Soho Culinary Productions), Susie Heller and Harry Bernstein (Full Plate Media), and John Servidio (Lemnos Development). Partial funding is provided by All Clad. KQED San Francisco is the series' presenter. Distributor to public television stations is American Public Television (APT).
