Yahoo! Answers and Bono Team Up To Encourage Support To End World Poverty

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 5, 2006 - From "One: The Campaign to Make Poverty History" to the "Live 8" concert, Bono has been at the forefront of numerous campaigns designed to gain global attention and eradicate poverty and hunger. Now, Bono is tapping into the global community -- with the click of a button - - to encourage support from 12 countries in 6 languages around the world.

On Friday, July 7, Bono will post a question on Yahoo! Answers (http://answers.yahoo.com/) designed to further his worldwide efforts. Specifically, Bono will ask, "WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE POVERTY HISTORY?" in hopes of engaging consumers and sparking meaningful ideas and support from people of all ages and backgrounds.

Also on July 7, Bono will appear in an exclusive Yahoo! Video (http://video.yahoo.com/) to discuss the issue of poverty and Yahoo! will make a $25,000 donation to the Global Fund.

In a BBC interview, Bono once explained that he wants the current generation to be "remembered for something other than the Internet." Nonetheless, it just may be the Internet, through the use of Yahoo! Answers, that enables people to share their questions, concerns and influential ideas on any topic -- namely the issue of poverty.
