Turner Classic Movies Remembers Legendary Comedian Red Buttons with On-Air Tribute on Thursday, July 20

What: Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of
comedian Red Buttons with six of the films that made the stand-up
comic a Hollywood star.

The carrot-topped, burlesque comedian began his 70-year career
singing on the streets as a child. From there, Red Buttons took on
Broadway, television and film. With almost 30 films and countless
TV appearances to his credit, Buttons won an Emmy for Best Comedian
for The Red Buttons Show (1952) and the 1957 Oscar(R) as supporting
actor in the drama Sayonara (1957). For a full biography and
