41 Bands to Perform at the Fuze Sponsored Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago

Rap to Pop to Indie-Rock -- Music and the Great Taste of Fuze a Winning Combination

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- From rapper Ghostface Killah to pop star Rihanna, Fuze beverage is discovering working with the creativity of recording artists to help promote the great taste of Fuze beverages is a winning formula. That's why they've signed on to support the Pitchfork Music Festival as the Official Beverage Sponsor. This underground indie musicfest packed with emerging artists will be held in Chicago's Union Park, July 29th and 30th.

"With 41 bands, three stages and an expected 30,000 indie-rock fans, we're ready to ignite the crowds with the great taste of Fuze beverages," said Bill Meissner, Chief Marketing Officer for Fuze.

Fans will have the opportunity to sample Fuze's newest "Vitalize" line of non-carbonated beverages that are designed to generate inner strength and nourish the body with natural goodness while it provides a shield of protection against the rigors of an active lifestyle. "Vitalize incorporates three exciting flavors and is packed with electrolytes and antioxidants to help revitalize your body and keep it strong," Meissner said. Fuze Green, White and Oolong teas will be at the sampling stations and in vending areas helping to keep fans cool in the hot Chicago summer.

During the two-day concert, the Fuze "Emergency Hydration Tour" ambulance- - currently barnstorming across America--will make a stop in Chicago to visit the news media and introduce key food and beverage editors to the great taste of Fuze beverages. "The first leg of the tour will visit 14 states from coast- to-coast," said Meissner. "Introducing Fuze via non-traditional grassroots efforts are starting to pay off," said Meissner. He pointed to the fact that sugary soft drink sales are off for the first time in 20 years with case volume in 2005 down 0.7 percent, to 10.2 billion cases. "We like to think we had a little something to do with that," Meissner said. (Sales of Fuze beverages in 2002 were just $6-million and could reach $100-million by the end of 2006.)
