Palm Beach Plastic Surgery Innovative 'Mini Face Lift' Procedure With Minimally Invasive Surgery Leading Florida TV News Segments
PALM BEACH, Fla., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Aging baby boomers concerned with the effects of time on their appearance are turning to a new plastic surgery procedure that requires local anesthesia only, no hospitalization, nor the weeks of recovery time required for a full face lift. Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon Fredric M. Barr, M.D. has been featured in NBC affiliate news clips on an innovative outpatient plastic surgery procedure. The band-aid mini-lift was developed to allow plastic surgery to be done in the Palm Beach office with little more than a local anesthetic and minimal bruising and downtime.
The mini-facelift procedure, performed in the office with only local anesthetic, allows a patient to walk in and walk out immediately after surgery. This minimally invasive approach is designed to improve the jowl and jawline for a younger and fresher look - an additional "mini-neck procedure" can also be utilized to improve the fat and muscle separation beneath the chin. The cost of a full face lift starts at $10,000 and can climb to $20,000 with hospital anesthesia but the band-aid mini face lift can cost between $5,000 and $7,000 and involves local anesthesia only.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), Americans spent approximately $12.4 billion on cosmetic procedures in 2005 and people between the ages of 35 and 50 had the majority of procedures: 5.3 million and 47 percent of the total. Women had about 10,500,000 cosmetic procedures performed last year, or 91.4 percent of the total.
One of the video news segments available on Dr. Barr's website looks at his full (maxi) face lift procedure and a second piece covers the "mini-lift" or "band-aid lift" using the in-office minimally invasive surgery technique. Three video clips from NBC news affiliate in Palm Beach, Florida, are available for viewing on your computer at http://www.palmbeachplasticsurgery.com/press.html.
Patient Cindi, from one news segment, says, "It was totally worth it. It was very easy and the healing was painless. I really didn't have a problem. I'm thrilled I did it!" Patient Carla, from another mini-lift news video segment, said, "It's amazing to me, because it's just a refresher - like you've been away on this great vacation. I wanted to look like myself, just more alive." Finally, a patient last week had just finished the procedure when her husband came in and enthused, "It's just great!" His wife quickly responded, "This is better than I thought I'd get!"
Dr. Barr is board certified by the ABMS division of Plastic Surgery, the immediate past President of the Palm Beach County Society of Plastic Surgeons (1995-2005), a voluntary Assistant Professor, University of Miami in the division of Plastic Surgery since 1998, and in private practice in Palm Beach County since 1984.
