Ohio Governor's Mansion Now Covered With 'This Old House' Paint
CLEVELAND, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- ICI Paints, an international leader in the distribution and manufacture of high-quality paints including Glidden and Ralph Lauren, today announced that it is working with Long Painting, a Columbus-area painting contractor, to repaint the Ohio Governor's Mansion with a fresh coat of This Old House brand paint.
Earlier this year, Long Painting along with ICI Paints submitted a proposal for paint and repair the Governor's mansion using This Old House paint. Representatives from Governor Bob Taft's office chose Cielo Blanco and Desert Castle from ICI Paints' Master Palette to give the Governor's Mansion a fresh new look.
"It is an honor to work on a project as prestigious and historically important as the Governor's Mansion," said Eric Miller, Long Painting. "This Old House paint truly delivers the high quality and value necessary to provide an outstanding result to this grand old home. After all, This Old House knows a few things about renovating older homes, so we felt it was a perfect choice for this job and it has performed as well as we expected."
Introduced in 2005, This Old House paint is a premium exterior paint brand reflecting more than 25 years of This Old House expertise and quality craftsmanship combined with ICI Paints' internationally-renowned research and development capabilities. Formulated with only the highest-quality raw materials, this is a premium line of paint that really lives up to its promised formula benefits and is worthy of carrying the This Old House name.
The Governor's Mansion, is located in northern Bexley. Originally built as a private residence in 1925 and given to the State of Ohio in 1955, it has been home to Ohio Governors since 1957.
The three-story house was designed in 1923 and completed in 1925 on a three acre plot of land. Local Columbus architect, Robert Gilmore Hanford, designed the Jacobean Revival masonry structure resembling the great seventeenth century country houses of England.
