HARRISBURG, Pa., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- "Keep Pennsylvania Growing" is the theme of the state Department of Agriculture's new 'PA Preferred' advertising campaign, unveiled today in Harrisburg.
"Our research shows Pennsylvanians want to support our state's agricultural and related industries and our new marketing campaign will help consumers easily identify products that are grown or produced in our state," Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff said. "The PA Preferred brand includes a wide range of Pennsylvania industries and products, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products, wines, Christmas trees, hardwoods, and processed foods."
The campaign will feature billboards in key markets that will be displayed at peak purchasing times throughout the year. It will also feature a commercial to air on Do It Yourself (DIY), the Food Network, Home and Garden Television (HGTV), Style, and The Learning Channel.
"Thanks to the support of more than 1,500 members and major grocery retailers like Giant Foods and Weis Markets, it's getting easier for consumers to identify and buy PA Preferred products," Wolff added. "Shoppers should look for signs or tags featuring the PA Preferred checkmark logo."
Launched by Governor Edward G. Rendell in 2004, the PA Preferred program encourages farmers, food processors, manufacturers and other businesses to brand their products by using the PA Preferred checkmark logo. Retailers and restaurants are encouraged to highlight the PA Preferred products they use and sell.
