ROYAL OAK, Mich., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 50,000 people will descend on Downtown Royal Oak for its premier summer event, the 12th Annual Clay & Glass and Taste of Royal Oak Festival, presented by National City. Celebrate Father's Day Weekend the artist's way at the region's largest juried clay and glass festival with expanded hours, more music and food in one of the area's most attractive downtown environments. Save the date for Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 when 135 of the country's top artists in clay and glass join forces along four blocks of Washington Avenue and intersect at Fifth Street, where 10 of Royal Oak's best restaurants and a roster of the region's best jazz, blues and funk music are featured along Fifth from Washington to Center Street. "As one of the founders of the Clay & Glass Art Show, I am truly pleased to see how it has grown to become a first-class festival, creating a wonderful economic impact on our Downtown and a memorable experience for all who attend," said Jim Domanski, co-owner of Pronto! and board member of the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority.

The Clay & Glass Festival makes for an unforgettable Father's Day Weekend in Downtown Royal Oak and attracts thousands of foodies, art connoisseurs and music fans from around the region, out-state and out-of-state. Long-time Clay & Glass Artist Doug Spalding of Royal Oak said, "Each year, I return to the Clay & Glass Festival because it evolves and grows, there is always something new and different happening and I receive great exposure to both repeat and new art connoisseurs. I am pleased to see so many quality artists participating again this year," he said. A special children's art area and glass blowing demonstration will take place at both Fifth and Washington and Seventh and Washington.

On Saturday, June 17, Downtown Royal Oak becomes electric with food, music and entertainment until 10 p.m. on Fifth Street. Entertainment sponsor Agu Nwosu of Fifth Avenue Billiards added something new and different in the way of music this year.
