BarterBee.com Video Contest 'Buzzing' as First Round Winner Announced

LOS GATOS, Calif., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- BarterBee.com's summer video contest "Be The Bee" definitely has their members buzzing. The contest running over the next 2-3 months invites people to "Be The Bee," by expressing themselves as the Barter Bee. From acting out a favorite movie clip, performing a favorite song, or creating their own Bee video game sequence, members are submitting clips that incorporate the company mascot.

"The video submissions for this first round of our contest were funny and funky," commented Robert Alvin, President of BarterBee.com, or the "king bee," as he depicts himself in the contest's promotional video dressed as the Barter Bee. "Our first round winner had his kids trading their old videos for new ones, and their youngest child portraying the 'MiniBee' who showed how easy it is to use BarterBee.com."

The first round winner in the summer-long "Be the Bee" video contest is Kevin Nalty of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. For his winning video submission, Nalty chose a portable DVD player from several prize choices which also include an iPod nano and a Sony PSP Player. This summer long contest will select a winner every two weeks. The winning members will then go "antenna to antenna" at the end of the contest, and the grand prize winner will receive a 42" Panasonic plasma HDTV television.

Other submissions during the first round of the contest ranged from a "Shaft" impersonation of the Barter Bee to an animated Barter Bee flying between mail boxes to "Flight of the Barter Bee," to sock puppets dressed up like Sonny and Cher bees singing "I Got you Bee."
