Court TV(R) Extra to Offer Live Coverage of the Duke University Rape Case Hearing
Court TV Extra is the Network's Online Broadband Service Offering Multiple Streaming Trial Coverage
NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Court TV Extra -- the online service that brings subscribers multiple live video feeds from courtrooms across the country -- will stream a pre-trial hearing in the Duke University Rape Case live from the Durham County Courtroom courthouse in Durham, NC. The hearing is anticipated to begin today at 2:30pm ET and will be available live in its entirety on the network's web-based service, which can be accessed on Court TV's website at http://www.courttv.com/extra.
Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann will come before a judge today for a pre-trial hearing stemming from the alleged rape of a woman at a lacrosse team party in the early morning hours of March 14. Seligmann's lawyer, Kirk Osborn, is expected to ask for a variety of prosecution records, including cell phone logs of Seligmann's accuser. The hearing is what is known as a "first setting" to ask for discovery materials from prosecutors. Seligmann, 20, and another Duke lacrosse player, Collin Finnerty, were indicted last month on charges of first-degree forcible rape, sexual offense, and kidnapping. A third player, co-captain David Evans, was indicted Monday on the same charges. All have denied any role in the alleged rape.
Court TV News will also cover the hearing live. Correspondent Beth Karas is in Durham, NC covering the hearing from inside the Durham County courtroom.
