Cavalier Adds Melitos to Help Get Out the 'Idol' Vote
RICHMOND, Va., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cavalier Telephone, a leading provider of voice and high speed internet service throughout the mid-Atlantic and one of Richmond's 50 largest employers, announced today the addition of a second of their American Idol phone banks to be at Melitos restaurant, 8815 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, VA.
Richmond's own American Idol contestant, Elliott Yamin, once worked at the popular West End restaurant. Owner Richard Melito added, "Elliott and his family are great patrons for us and we're looking forward to helping make him the next American Idol." Cavalier will set up a phone bank similar to the one at the Bottoms Up that will allow patrons to quickly dial in their vote after the contestant's performance on Tuesday night. There is no charge for the service.
"Last week's event at Bottoms Up was a great success and we're looking forward to having two partners help us make sure all of Richmond can join the party and get out and vote," said Cavalier VP of Marketing, Andy Lobred. Televisions will be tuned to Fox's Tuesday evening broadcast from 8pm-9pm and voting will begin when the show concludes and last for approximately two hours.
