STORY SUMMARY:

BET will honor superlative achievement in music, entertainment and sports with a star-studded "live" telecast of BET AWARDS '06 on Tuesday June 27 at 5:00 PM PT/8:00 PM ET. The show format includes star-studded red carpet arrivals, exciting on-stage performances and stirring tributes by the hottest names in entertainment at LA's prestigious Shrine Auditorium.

On Tuesday, May 16th BET will unveil this year's BET Awards host, Humanitarian and Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, as well as nominees in 15 categories, including Viewer's Choice and a brand new category -- the BET J 'Cool Like That' award.

The following celebrities are scheduled to appear at press events to announce this year's nominees: Hip-hop megastar, Busta Rhymes; Oscar winning rap group 3-6 Mafia; Soulful R&B singer, Ne-Yo; Chart-topping R&B songstress, Keyshia Cole; Young R&B sensation Chris Brown; BET AWARDS '06 host; and other select nominees and special honorees.
