Alliance Atlantis TSX Ticker Symbol to Change

TORONTO, May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. (the "Company") today announced that effective Wednesday, May 10, 2006, one of its ticker symbols on the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") will be modified as part of a broader symbol change initiative previously announced by the TSX.

The ticker symbol "AAC.B" will replace the ticker symbol "AAC.NV.B" currently used on the TSX for the Company's Class B Non-Voting shares.

The ticker symbol "AAC.A" for the Company's Class A Voting Shares on the TSX, will not be impacted by the TSX's changes.
