NEW YORK, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Cottontail broke the Guinness World Record(TM) for the WORLD'S LARGEST EASTER EGG HUNT at Stone Mountain Park on Sunday, April 9, 2006. More than 5,000 kids ages 4-12 hunted in the Park's Plantation Meadow for more than 300,000 colorful Easter Eggs (weighing more than 12,000 lbs.) filled with candy and prizes. More than 10,000 people attended in all. The event was held to celebrate the release of the brand new DVD, Here Comes Peter Cottontail the Movie.

The previous record for the Largest Easter Egg Hunt was held by Searls Park in Rockford, Illinois, where they hid 292,686 eggs for children age 2-7. Peter Cottontail and Stone Mountain Park broke this record by adding 7,314 more eggs!
